This page is simply a list of all the wonderful recipes I want to try before I die : [ even though I am pretty sure I will be cooking and baking in heaven. I will try and highlight in red and add a photo of each recipe I actually do get to make and link it back to the recipe. Hopefully this will keep me motivated!

Croissant I grew up eating freshly made croissant from a small bakery in Charleston SC. Once you have a freshly baked one you can never go back to those dry limp ones sold in grocery stores.
Il Timpano This wonderfully theatrical dish which translates to drum was made famous by the movie: The Big Night.

Cassata This is festive celebration cake from Sicily which has a marzipan coating. It is filled with fruit and nuts and just so very delicious, when I was in Italy I ate a lot of Cassata Gelato.
Bagels My Mom used to make us homemade bagels that were out of this world but when I tried her recipe they came out flat, she has promised to show me how when she comes to visit next time, I will keep you posted : )

Italian Rum Cake Every Italian American bakery has one these cakes which are filled with rum and topped with whipped cream. It is a cake that requires several steps and I just need to set a day aside for it.

Osso Bucco Milanese braised veal shanks are not too difficult but just a bit pricey to feed a large family so now that we are only a family of 3 I hope to try this soon!
