Whole Wheat Yeast Rolls
Ingredients
2 ½ t. yeast
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons slightly warm milk (I microwave for 30 seconds)
1t. salt
1 egg beaten
3 T. honey
4 cups w.w. flour
3 tablespoons melted butter
Directions
Mix in food processor until a ball forms and then 1 minute after on dough cycle.
Or mix in a Kitchen Aid until a ball forms and then 7 minutes on the knead cycle.
Place in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap and rest till double.
Divide into 12, I do this by halving it again and again to make sure they are of uniform size.
Form into balls by rolling in your hands.
Place on a sheet pan (They will be touching and that is okay.)
Preheat oven to 375
Cover with a damp towel or plastic wrap that is lightly oiled and allow them to double in size in a warm spot (top of the stove)
Bake 15 – 20 minutes
Brush butter on top when you remove them and place on a rack to cool.
Serve right away or cool slightly (This will keep them moist) and place in baggy for later use
